I am so excited to tell you about another one of my new favorite fashion sites, JewelMint. A collaboration between actress Kate Bosworth and celebrity stylish Cher Coulter, JewelMint is a monthly subscription service similar to the shoe sites I've been telling you about, only JewelMint specializes in high end fashion jewelry.
Here's how JewelMint works:
JewelMint is the new and personalized way to shop for designer jewelry! As a member you get access to exclusive jewelry collections designed by actress Kate Bosworth and her stylist Cher Coulter. Each month you’ll receive personalized jewelry recommendations and style advice. Membership is just $29.99 per month. Shipping is FREE, returns are hassle free and if you don't find something you love, SKIP THE MONTH within the first five days FOR NO CHARGE. There’s no obligation ever.
Sounds great, right? But the proof is in the pudding. Here are a couple of May's selections that are still available.

JewelMint has been around for several months, but I think it's about to explode in popularity (if it hasn't already). The new pieces available each month are selling out quickly, and JewelMint has brought back some pieces from previous months by popular demand. The Facebook fan page is growing into quite a community, and many people are looking a JewelMint pieces as collectible items.
I admit that I've turned into a JewelMint junkie. Since a friend turned me on to it in March, I've accumulated quite a collection. I was really skeptical at first. I am particular about quality because I make my own jewelry and because I have sensitive skin. My usual standard is that I wouldn't buy it if I could make it for less or if it's likely to turn my skin green or make my ears itch, but I haven't run into any of those problems with my JewelMint pieces.
| My JewelMint collection as of 5/14. Uh, yeah, it's grown by 4 more pieces since then. |
I also love the way each piece is presented. You get to see several photographs of the piece by itself and on a model, and the photographs are accompanied by a video narrated by Cher Coulter and style tips on what to wear with the piece. Here's a screenshot of one of the pieces still currently available, the Rachel earrings:
Let's get down to brass tacks. You all know I am a bargain hunter, and I'm a mom. I love to shop, but I don't have the time or patience to do it. The terrible twos have descended upon us early, and I can hardly stand to take Fin anywhere public. Let me paint a picture for you: this afternoon I took my mom to her favorite outlet store. Finl discovered the many carousel jewelry racks in the store and proceeded to throw all the earrings, necklaces and rings he could reach onto the floor. And the racks were stuffed so full that each time my mom or I tried to put something back he'd knocked down, something else would fall down. This was incredibly frustrating.
With JewelMint, I have a selection already whittled down for me. I can choose what I want (or nothing at all), and it ships free. I can return it for a credit if I don't like it. It just takes a few minutes at the computer, which I can thankfully still steal during naptime.
Shopping with JewelMint has helped me get my fashion mojo back. Instead of slopping on gauchos and a t-shirt (my mommy uniform), I'm taking a little more care in my appearance, choosing outfits that I can pair with a great JewelMint piece. I'm feeling more polished and put together--a little more me--than I have since before I was pregnant with Finley. And that feels good. I also like the excitement of seeing what's new on the first of the month.
I can't believe I almost forgot to show you the packaging! Each JewelMint piece is packaged beautifully. I knew as soon as I opened up my first item that I'd be relying on JewelMint for gifts in the future. In fact, I sent my sister a gift credit for her birthday at the end of March!
If $29.99 sounds a bit pricy for fashion jewelry, I invite you to take the style quiz and examine the quality yourself. Many of the pieces are silver or gold plated with semi-precious stones. This isn't your cheap junk jewelry you might buy in the accessories section of your favorite clothing store. And one of the best things about JewelMint is that they do run promotions for both new and existing customers. I often find promo codes for various dollar amounts off in my email and on the JewelMint Facebook page (which right now is featuring Bring It Back, in which fans can vote for their favorite past pieces to be offered again and get a nifty promo code). And occasionally you may find 2 for 1 deals, where you can get a set of two pieces for the price of one!
The best part is that if you see something you like, you can get it for half price! JewelMint is offering a discount code for my readers who have never purchased from JewelMint. Click on this link and use code Mommy'sFirst50. This will get you your first JewelMint piece for $14.99. The code is good through June 1. Be sure to use the link above here on the blog to make sure your promo code will work! Happy shopping!
